Mod to improve feel and reduce switch travel
Courtesy of and reprinted with the approval of blu on Discord.
In my attempts to reduce travel distance on mechanical frets I made a fret that feels in-between mech and cut silicone. It both decreased the travel distance and acted like a cushion when the switch bottoms out it has the action of a mech fret but when it bottoms out it feels exactly like silicone frets. I haven’t played too much with it, but it feels nice, damn it feels really nice.
i just got the travel distance for my frets below 1mm they’re silent too. They’re actually so silent that i can hear the acoustics of the hollow neck when I press them down.
The only tools required are a set of tweezers and a pair of scissors to cut the rubber band.

Open the switch
To open the switch, insert tweezers inside the clips on the switch and lightly pull upwards and outwards
Repeat on the other side
Afterwards the switch can be fully disassembled.
Cut rubber band “pad”
Once the switch is disassembled, cut a square piece out of a #16 rubber band . . .
Make sure it’s all the way in by lightly pushing it downwards.
Once the rubber band is inside, the switch can be reassembled.
