Dongle
PS2 and PS3 game controllers usually require a separate device that ‘hangs off’ of the front of the game console. This device allows the wireless connection between the guitar controller and the game controller. See my Dongle Cross Reference to determine which dongle works with your guitar/game system.
Model Number
Model number is often found on a label on the back of the guitar or sometimes in the battery slot.
OEM Fretboard
This refers to the printed circuit board (PCB) in the guitar neck, underneath the fret buttons. The model number is either screen printed or part of the copper in the PC Board.

Original Equipment Manufacturer. That is, the parts put in the guitar in the factory when it was made.

Strum Switch
There are two switches that sit on either side of the strum bar (one “strum up” and one “strum down”). There are two main types of switches – the ALPS 2-pin offset (super hard to find) and a microswitch style (see Guitar Hero Strum Bar Replacement Switch)
