    Here’s the setup:
    36V supply
    1605 ballscrews (5mm per rev)
1/8 microstep (320 steps per mm)
    Idle current reduction: OFF
    A slaved to Y

The machine was working fine previously. Today I was doing a slow move (1mm/sec) along the Y axis and the Y motor suddenly stopped while the A motor continued its move.

When I checked the Y, there was no torque. I can easily turn the motor, unlike the X, Z and A.

Y behaves normally again after I power cycle the board. But stops and loses torque again after a few seconds.

Never mind. Found clues that point to a broken wire somewhere. 🙂
