Current Adjustment

    The steppers that you sent me are rated 3A. Does that mean that the three pots VR1, VR2 and VR3 should be set to .42VDC – or am I missing something?

    Second question: Microstepping – Whats best – !/2 or !/4 step. I want the most torque on the Z azis

    Q1: Yes
    From the instructions: “3A= .42VDC (forty-two hundredths of a volt)

    Q2: Microstepping can reduce resonance, but will reduce torque. From the instructions: “We recommend using 1/2 or 1/4 step. This produces almost full power and usually avoids any resonance issues. The finer the micro step the less power you’ll have. Don’t use microstepping to increase the “precision” of your machine.

    Is current re-adjustment required when changing the power supply voltage from 24Vdc tot 40Vdc?

    I am running a 4-axis pro board on 24Vdc 10A power supply but changing to a 40Vdc supply. The motors will be the same.
