So I accidentally shorted some of the motor wiring while trying to test the unit and created smoke on two of the driver chips. Am I safe to buy the driver chips and replace them or should I just purchase a new board? Actually, I have the 4 axis board, so I could use the chip off the 4th axis, since I don’t use it. Just wondering what else may have been damaged. I have a degree in electronics and I suspect nothing else is defective, but I’m not entirely sure of the components involved.

    Thanks,
    Gary

You can just move your wiring to the unused axis (and reconfigure the software to match). That’d solve one axis.
The chips are still available online. I don’t carry that chip.
